The question about the mirror in space, if it were a half a light year away, and you looked at it, you'd see a year into the past.
If that's the case, then, don't you technically look into the past when you just look at any mirror in general? Or, when you look at anything? And the further the thing you're looking at, the further back in time you're looking at?

Yes. One light nanosecond (the distance light travels in a billionth of a second) is equivalent to 1 imperial foot (30 centimetres). However, your brain can’t process information on that order of magnitude even; your brain works in milliseconds. In fact, your brain works at 0.000003% the speed of light at it’s fastest. If you’re standing a foot away from the mirror, by the time you realise that you’re looking in the mirror your reflection has already reached your eyes a few million times.
